The MMM market has matured significantly. Open-source tools from tech giants sit alongside venture-backed SaaS platforms and AI-native newcomers. Here is an honest look at the major players.

Cassandra

An AI-native MMM platform built for speed and accessibility. Cassandra's core pitch is removing the data scientist from the loop — the platform handles model configuration, calibration, and interpretation automatically. It offers a free tier for smaller advertisers, continuous model updates, and scenario planning tools. Strongest for teams that want fast time-to-insight without dedicated analytical resources. The tradeoff: as a newer entrant, it has a shorter track record than established players.

Lifesight

A unified measurement platform that combines MMM with multi-touch attribution and incrementality testing. Lifesight's strength is its breadth — you get multiple measurement methodologies in a single platform, which allows for triangulation. The platform leans toward mid-market and enterprise customers and typically requires some analytical capability on the client side to get the most out of its features.

Measured

Measured has built its reputation on incrementality testing and cross-channel measurement. Their MMM offering is part of a broader measurement suite that emphasizes experimental validation — they use incrementality tests to calibrate and ground-truth their models. This is a meaningful differentiator for companies that want high confidence in their results. The platform tends to be positioned at the higher end of SaaS pricing, reflecting the added complexity of their multi-method approach.

Rockerbox

Originally a marketing attribution platform, Rockerbox has expanded into MMM as part of a full-funnel measurement suite. Their strength is in connecting user-level journey data with aggregate modeling — useful for DTC brands and e-commerce companies that want to understand both the macro (channel-level effectiveness) and micro (customer journey) views. The platform is well-suited to companies already using Rockerbox for attribution who want to layer on MMM.

Prescient AI

Another AI-native entrant that emphasizes predictive capabilities and automated optimization. The Decision Framework: Four Questions That Actually Matter

Before you compare features, answer these four questions. They will narrow your shortlist faster than any comparison table.

Question 1: Do You Have a Data Scientist?

This is the single most important question. If you have a data scientist (or a team of them) who can dedicate 10-20 hours per month to MMM, the entire market is available to you — including free open-source tools that are technically excellent. Red Flags When Evaluating MMM Vendors

After watching dozens of companies evaluate and select MMM tools, here are the warning signs that predict regret. Take these seriously — any single one of these should give you pause.

  • "Our model is 95% accurate." No MMM is 95% accurate, and any vendor who claims this does not understand their own methodology or is deliberately misleading you. MMMs are probabilistic models with confidence intervals, not point estimates. Ask instead about MAPE (Mean Absolute Percentage Error) ranges and how they validate their models against holdout tests or incrementality experiments.

  • They cannot explain their methodology. You do not need a PhD-level explanation, but the vendor should be able to clearly describe their modeling approach (frequentist vs. Bayesian, what priors they use, how they handle adstock and saturation), and why they made those choices. "It is proprietary" is not an acceptable answer for the core methodology. Proprietary implementations are fine. Proprietary math is a red flag.

  • No incrementality validation. An MMM without any incrementality calibration is just a fancy correlation analysis. The best platforms either run their own incrementality tests, integrate with your existing test results, or at minimum allow you to input calibration priors from experiments you have run independently. If the platform has no story around incrementality, the model outputs are less trustworthy.

  • They promise results before seeing your data. Any vendor who guarantees specific outcomes ("We will improve your ROAS by 30%") before they have seen your data quality, your channel mix, and your business context is selling you fiction. Reputable vendors will tell you what the platform does and give you case studies, but they will not guarantee results that depend on factors outside their control.

  • The demo only shows the best-case scenario. Ask to see a case where the model produced surprising or counterintuitive results. Ask to see what the platform looks like when data quality is poor. Ask what happens when a model confidence interval is wide. How a vendor handles imperfection tells you more than how they handle their showcase example.

  • No clear onboarding timeline. If the vendor cannot give you a specific, week-by-week onboarding plan with milestones and owners, expect a painful setup process. Good vendors have run hundreds of onboardings and can tell you exactly what needs to happen in weeks one, two, three, and four.

  • They discourage you from using other tools alongside theirs. Healthy vendors welcome triangulation. If a vendor gets defensive when you mention also using another tool, incrementality testing, or consulting validation, they are not confident in their own outputs.

Questions to Ask in Your MMM Vendor Demo

Print this list and bring it to every demo call. These questions separate the serious platforms from the pretenders.

On Methodology

  • "Walk me through how your model handles adstock transformation. Do you use geometric decay, Weibull, or something else? How are the parameters estimated?"

  • "How do you handle saturation — and can I see the saturation curves for a sample client?"

  • "What priors does your Bayesian model use, and how much do they influence the posterior estimates?"

  • "How do you handle multicollinearity between channels that tend to scale together?"

On Validation

  • "How do you validate that the model is actually correct? Show me your out-of-sample testing process."

  • "Can I calibrate the model with my own incrementality test results? How does that work technically?"

  • "What does the model output look like when data quality is poor? How do you flag low-confidence results?"

  • "Can you share an anonymized case where your model was initially wrong, and how it was corrected?"

On Practical Operations

  • "What does the onboarding process look like week by week? Who on my team needs to be involved, and for how many hours?"

  • "How often does the model refresh, and what triggers a recalibration?"

  • "What happens when an API integration breaks? What is your SLA for fixing data pipeline issues?"

  • "Can I export the raw model parameters and underlying data, or am I locked into your platform?"

On Commercial Terms

  • "Is there a pilot period, and what does success look like at the end of it?"

  • "What is the minimum contract commitment? Can I go month-to-month after the initial period?"

  • "If I grow my channel count or data volume, how does pricing scale?"

  • "What does offboarding look like? Can I take my models and data with me if I leave?"

A Note on Open-Source Alternatives

Google Meridian and Meta Robyn deserve special mention because they are free, and "free" is a powerful word. But free is only free if your time is worth nothing. A realistic Meridian or Robyn implementation requires:

  • A data scientist with experience in Bayesian modeling (salary: $120K-$180K/year, of which this project may consume 20-30% of their time)

  • An engineer to build and maintain data pipelines

  • Ongoing maintenance: model monitoring, retraining, bug fixes

  • No vendor support when things break (and they will break)

The total internal cost often runs $50K-$100K/year when you account for personnel time — which puts it squarely in SaaS platform territory, but without the support infrastructure. Open-source tools are excellent for organizations with strong data teams who want full control. For everyone else, they are a time trap disguised as a cost saving.

Making the Decision

The MMM tool landscape in 2026 is more competitive, more capable, and more accessible than it has ever been. That is great for buyers but also makes the choice feel overwhelming. Cut through the noise with this simple process:

  1. Answer the four questions above. This will eliminate half the market immediately.

  2. Demo two to three finalists. No more. Use the demo questions in this article and evaluate vendors on the quality of their answers, not just the polish of their slides.

  3. Run a paid pilot with your top choice. Real data, real timelines, real results. A pilot will tell you more in four weeks than six months of evaluation calls.

  4. Commit, but negotiate exit terms. Once you have seen the pilot results, commit to the platform that delivered — but make sure you can leave if things change.

The worst decision is no decision. If you are spending meaningful money on marketing and you have no measurement system, every month you delay costs more than any tool on this list. Pick the platform that fits your current reality — not your aspirational future state — and start measuring today.
